Sustainable
projects

Combined experience and expertise of HYDAC and its subsidiaries HYCOM and ELMA ensure thoughtful involvement from the design stage, driven by creativity and innovation.

HYDAC has engaged in a wide range of projects, several of which had the principal focus on designing and producing innovating mechanisms to reduce energy consumption. Together with the support of parent company HYDAC GmbH, internal tools have also been developed to adopt a more conscious attitude as well as approach towards the development of hydraulic systems.

A few examples of projects that helped reduce our collective ecological footprint:

Use of TRU Filters in Our Hydraulic Systems

Wherever possible, we integrate HYDAC TRU filters into our hydraulic systems to offer our customers a lighter, more efficient, and lower maintenance solution. The TRU technology provides active degassing and dewatering of the hydraulic oil, […]

Extend the service life of oil

Customers can outsource the analysis of hydraulic oil and lubricating oil to our company. We have set up the Hydac Fluid Care Program in which, after sampling, the fluid is tested in our laboratory and […]

Upgrading Gripper but re-using equipment

In stead of buying a new monopile gripper our customer requested us to upgrade the gripper frame to be able to handle bigger monopiles. We have overhauled all winches, manifolds and hydraulic cylinders. Also the […]

Reuse Volvo

An example of material reuse. We received these diesel engines from the customer as supplied equipment, with the intention of ultimately converting them into a diesel‑driven HPU. These diesel engines were previously used as emergency […]

electrification cable tensioner

A tensioner must maintain very stable and predictable line tension to protect the submarine cables. We replaced the hydraulic drive for an electric drive. For this application the electric drive was a better solution to […]
