At HYDAC, our Future-Proof Entrepreneurship Team brings together expertise from across the organization to drive innovation, reduce environmental impact, and create long-term value. The team convenes monthly to discuss how the company can prepare itself for future challenges. Each member shares a unique perspective on what sustainable business means to them, because shaping the future starts with people.
For me and my department, sustainable business means using resources responsibly by reusing products and materials wherever possible. It also means refurbishing existing cylinders and systems instead of replacing them, to extend their lifespan. Finally, regular inspections are essential to perform timely maintenance and prevent waste.
Sustainable business means to me being mindful of resources, energy, the environment, and our fellow human beings. For my department, this means developing energy-efficient machines that last, or upgrading existing machines so they can start a second life. An important principle is designing them for long service life; robust construction and serviceability are key for me. Within limited space and constraints, this requires creativity, and that is something we have in abundance.
For the purchasing team, sustainable business means optimizing the entire supply chain. This includes preventing fragmented purchasing by creating a more compact assortment and consolidating orders. It also involves reducing dead and outdated inventory, which is costly and hinders supply chain optimization. Additionally, we coordinate fixed delivery schedules to minimize logistical movements.
Sustainable business, to me, is about making choices that are good for today and tomorrow. I believe that real sustainable change only works when people feel involved and actively contribute ideas. The Future-Proof Entrepreneurship Team is essential in this process. For me, this team symbolizes that sustainability is not a brake, but a driving force for development; an initiative I am proud to have helped shape and continue to guide.
To me, sustainable business means finding green, circular, and energy-saving solutions for all kinds of challenges I encounter in my work and personal life and taking responsibility to ensure a better future, so that many generations after us can still enjoy the beautiful mountains and seas of this planet.

Currently, we focus on collecting data for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, where we actively invest in purchasing green energy and reducing energy consumption in our operations. Looking ahead, we plan to extend this to Scope 3, giving us valuable insights into where CO₂ reductions can be achieved within our products and supply chain. By combining data-driven decisions with innovative design, we aim to minimize environmental impact while delivering measurable benefits for our customers.

Sustainability is a shared responsibility—and we believe collaboration is key to achieving meaningful impact. At HYDAC, we work closely with suppliers, customers, and partners to optimize the entire value chain. This includes consolidating purchases, reducing outdated inventory, and streamlining logistics to create smarter, greener supply networks.
